Yoga Ring

Yoga Ring

This little pink coral stretch ring is like a mala bracelet for the finger — love it!

I finally did yoga using the “official” new MyYogaPro website this morning. I chose a flow class and a twist class. The intermediate flow class reviews stated that it would get you sweating, and they were right! The twist class definitely worked, too — very cleansing. I’m very impressed and happy that I made the decision to purchase a lifetime membership.

I’m getting more and more interested in the idea of making “my” space in the new home very minimalist with plenty of room to lay out my yoga mat. Last night I even realized that the mirrors on the closet doors would be an advantage in my yoga practice (though maybe not for the birdlets!).

Little Things

Little Things

I love little diamonds, specifically round and emerald or asscher cut. In fact, if I were to get engaged all over again, I might very well request a little diamond in a Tiffany-style solitaire or something similarly simple. I like that it’s a classic symbol of commitment and it’s instantly recognizable, but it’s not materialistic.

Getting serious about downsizing now. Between my box roundup and my husband’s, we have a huge pile of boxes for packing. I’m planning on being ruthless with the contents of our closet this weekend. I’ve also started collecting small space organization and decorating ideas on Pinterest, including some really simple DIY projects, and I’ve been browsing rugs like there’s no tomorrow. We’ll have a lot of wood tones, blues and natural stone colors in the new place, so I’m looking for ways to play off of those.

Morning Glories

Morning Glories

So I’m normally not a fan of spoon rings, but this one is sweet. It has so much detail and dimensionality to it, and I even like the antiquing. The seller does say that it is a true antique spoon and they have preserved the maker’s mark.

No post yesterday, I know, but honestly I couldn’t motivate with so much going on. We were eagerly awaiting news on our offer on the Hippie Condo, I had a busy day at work and my tattoo appointment to look forward to, and we were still scoping out any and all Zillow listings that popped up.

As of this morning, our offer was accepted, and I have TWO fresh tattoos! My appointment was great. I mentioned the possibility of a morning glory over my previous iris, and now I have one, with one mostly opened blossom and a bud, and several prettily shaded leaves. I also have two apple blossoms tucked around and behind the stem of my poppy tattoo, with just the most delicate shading and hints of color.

It was a dream to work with Jennifer at Brainstorm Tattoo. The fact that she’s moving out of town in a month may be for the best, because now I want to have her tattoo MORE things all over me. I sincerely enjoyed watching her work.

Dainty Stack

Dainty Stack

I really like the simplicity of Carla Caruso designs. She has beautiful, affordable wedding options. This stack of rings is classic, interesting, and buildable all at once; it would be easy for someone to start with one band and add on for anniversaries or occasions.

The seller of the hippie condo asked for an extension as he has been in Little Rock and did not have access to a computer to review our offer. We should hear back by 3 pm today. If this place doesn’t work out for some reason, I imagine we will rent, unless a new home materializes. In the meantime, I have the impending reply to distract me from the excitement/dread of my tattoo appointment this evening! I have fully committed to letting Jennifer freehand a new flower over my existing tattoo and hopefully adding to my poppy. I’m not looking forward to the sting, but I am looking forward to new tattoos(s). It seems appropriate that I would add the Arkansas state flower behind my Georgia O’Keefe poppy as I have finally committed to staying here a little longer.

Alternative Birthstone

Alternative Birthstone

I found a purple sapphire slice ring by this seller last year that was in a similar style to this ring, and I thought it was gorgeous. I’ve always loved purple stones, and purple sapphires are about the only thing hard enough for daily wear (unless we’re talking purple diamonds!) so I was surprised that it took so long to sell. This ring has a blue topaz, which is not normally my favorite, but the stone has such an earthy, natural look rather than a fake irradiated color so I like it.

We’re putting in an offer on a condo today. Nothing else materialized on the market yesterday, so we’re starting to box things up and are keeping our fingers crossed that everything works out. We haven’t seen the condo association’s financials yet, and I’m a little worried about that just because the property maintenance appears to be so-so.

(Another) Purple Sapphire

(Another) Purple Sapphire

I love this style of ring. The cabochon stone is so smooth and wearable, and the style reminds me of something very medieval. This is a James Meyer ring. I would love to visit his workshop in person!

We just accepted an offer on our house. This is great news, but we don’t know where we will be living yet! In the next day or so we need to figure that out…..

Woodgrain

Woodgrain

I like this fois bois ring. I love the idea of the texture getting more and more rustic with wear, and how the sides are a little thick and knobby like a branch.

Short post…. had a bit of a meltdown tonight. We saw 6 homes today, and I was really hoping I would be moved to make an offer, but alas I was not. They were all possibilities, but none of them was quite right. The two I was most excited about were downright disappointing. We did work out a counteroffer to submit tomorrow (though I came close to scrapping the whole sale idea) and my husband will view another home tomorrow. Maybe by Monday afternoon we will have an answer to our counter and we will be able to see how to proceed. I’m on MucinexD to clear my wretched sinuses so that should help too (yes, I literally need to clear my head).

I keep reminding myself that I don’t *need* to decide anything, but it’s difficult when the one place I could see myself moving into as is sold before my husband could see it, and the other units available in the same complex just don’t seem to measure up. May tomorrow bring clarity for us all.
